January has come and gone so quickly! We had an exciting and busy month (which is why I haven't blogged recently..) but we have had some time to have fun too!
We started school on January 6th. Waiaka has a pretty heavy load this semester and my classes can take up a lot of time but we still get to spend a lot of time together, mostly doing homework.
I got to celebrate my birthday on January 21st. I am no longer a teenager! Waiaka and my friends totally spoiled me. Since we didn't have school on the 20th, we celebrated my birthday a day early. We had a fun outing to a bowling alley, went out for Chinese food, then went to my roommate Kendall's house and played games and ate cake. It was so fun and I was so grateful to have such awesome people to celebrate with.
On my actual birthday I went to class, took a 3 hour nap, worked on some homework, then headed down to Idaho Falls with Waiaka for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It is my favorite restaurant and its where we went on our first date so its pretty special to us. We split a rack of ribs and the waiter made me sit on the saddle while everyone gave me a happy birthday "yee haw!"
The weekend after my birthday, we went to Waiaka's roommate Shane's cabin up in Island Park with a big group of friends. I got to snowmobile for the first time! I was super excited. We also did some sledding. I am usually not the biggest fan of sledding but we made some cool jumps which made it significantly more exciting. We had a big dinner all together and then we played some games and relaxed. It is always nice to get out of Rexburg for a day to do something fun!
The night that we got back from Shane's cabin, we also got our engagement pictures back! We were so excited that they turned out the way they did. A big thanks to Waiaka's cousin Aubrey for taking them for us.
Finally, last weekend we went to Utah. Waiaka and I were able to spend some time with his cousin's family which is always a good time. We also got my wedding dress! I am so excited! Waiaka's mission companion's wife is letting me borrow her gown and luckily we are the same size so no alterations need to be done. I am so happy it worked out like it did. I want to post pictures of it, but Waiaka can't see it until the big day. While in Utah, we also got our invitations designed. They look really nice and we are excited to send them out. If you haven't already, post your address to our Google Doc so we can send you an invite!

All in all, it was a pretty productive weekend that made me even more excited for our big day, April 12th. We even had some time to use my birthday coupon at Tucanos! Shane came with us which was exciting because it was his first time.
January was crazy busy but also super fun. We can't wait to make more wedding plans! Stay tuned to the blog for more pictures and posts!
